Plans for the LandAid Money Maker Challenge 2018

Image for Plans for the LandAid Money Maker Challenge 2018

This year’s LandAid Money Maker Challenge has started off with much excitement, with 9 teams having signed up so far with lots of interesting ideas in the pipeline. As a reminder, each of the teams are given £250 to start with, which the focus of the challenge is too turn this into as much money as possible by taking part in challenges, hosting events or anything they think will help them to win. Each team competes against each other to see who can make the most money from their efforts; all the while helping to end youth homelessness in the UK.

This year’s competitors are Orchards Estate Agents, TrustedLand, Osborne Clarke, Angle Property, 2 teams from Palmer Capital, Harlex Property, Gerald Eve and HeadOffice3.  Gerald Eve, who are planning on holding various food sales and finally hosting a sporting games night later in the year, have already made a profit and puts them almost at the top spot…

HeadOffice3 are currently the number 1 team having made £108 so far on bake sales and the tuck shop that they are having every week. Not only this, but they are planning on hosting a racketball-althon in late August, and a small team will be participating in the York 100k bike ride! Details of these will soon be announced if you wish to get involved.

Harlex Property will be holding a golf day in October with breakfast, a day of golf, a three course meal and a raffle; the details for which will soon be announced. Orchards Estate Agents will be hosting a charity auction at their Developers Dinner in September, with guest speakers from GLA and Savills.

Osborne Clarke and Orchards Estate Agents are both taking to their bikes, with Osborne Clarke doing a ‘cycle the distance’ of Land’s End to John O’Groats, following in the footsteps of Angle Proprty’s James Good who completed the challenge last year. Orchards will be, collectively, cycling the distance between their Milton Keynes office and the Ampthills twined town of Nissan-lez-Eserune.

One of Palmer Capital’s teams will be taking on Mount Snowdon in September as their money making challenge and the other teams are still in the process of whittling down their options. The remaining teams are still brainstorming their competition-winning ideas and the details will be announced once the plans have been finalised.
