Packaged Living, the Pan-UK Build to Rent developer and operator are pleased to announce that their application has been submitted for 292 new homes at Newcastle Quayside.
The proposed scheme, which includes significant resident amenity space, commercial space and car parking is the largest build to rent scheme to be brought forward in Newcastle.
The last remaining site of the 1990’s Farrell Masterplan, the scheme will consist of a range of studios, 1, 2 and 3 bed apartments purposely designed for the rental market.
Packaged Living were selected by Homes England to redevelop the 1.5-acre plot with Robertson, a construction and infrastructure business, and national design practice Whittam Cox Architects.
With market volatility and the economic challenges facing us in the UK in the months ahead, the project will bring an economic boost to Newcastle.
Mark Woodrow, Director at Packaged Living commented, “We are very pleased to get to this stage on such a high profile location for Newcastle. In these uncertain times we are delighted that this scheme will attract customers looking for a great rental offer and will bring huge economic activity to the city. The building will be designed with our usual mantra of Be Lean, Be Clean, Be Green and aim to deliver one the greenest residential buildings in the city.”
Ian Lowson, Director at Whittam Cox Architects commented, “We’re delighted that our designs for this new BtR scheme have been submitted in this significant location on Newcastle Quayside. We look forward to working with Robertson Construction, Packaged Living and Homes England to deliver quality, purpose built rental homes.”
