Palmer Capital are pleased to announce that Opus Land have been awarded planning permission for a c.135,000 sq ft industrial unit at Relay Park, Tamworth.
Permission was granted on the 5th February at the Borough Council’s Committee meeting, some three months from submission. Aberdeen Standard with development partner Opus acquired the site in June of 2018, with the purpose of obtaining planning permission to speculatively build warehouse premises which will comprise a modern warehouse/production facility with ancillary offices.
The site is situated in one of the Midlands premier distribution and warehousing locations, directly off Junction 10 of the M42 motorway. The area is home to some of the Midlands most established business parks and the speculative nature of this scheme highlights continued confidence in the robustness of the Midlands economy and Opus Land’s commitment to the area.
Tom Edgar of Opus Land commented:
“We are delighted that Borough Council’s Committee have the confidence in Opus Land to deliver our plans for the site, and are committed to be on site this spring to deliver this scheme by the end of the year. The Midlands is the heartland of the UK’s industrial market, and this scheme is a prime example of the continued buoyancy of the local economy despite the uncertainty in the UK currently.”
