The owner of an undeveloped lot on Avebury Boulevard, Palmer Capital, has signed a deal with hotel developer Vastint. It will see Marriott International make Milton Keynes part of the expansion of Moxy Hotels, its affordable lifestyle hotel concept.
Moxy Hotels has locations in Berlin, Milan, Arizona and New Orleans, among others.
Milton Keynes sits alongside London, Oslo, New York, Memphis and San Francisco in plans for further expansion of the brand.
Launched in 2014 in Milan, Moxy Hotels offers a spirited and stylish hotel experience fuelled by playful design, vibrant communal spaces and modern service.
A planning application has been submitted to Milton Keynes council for the development of the site at Avebury Boulevard and South Fifth Street, which is currently unoccupied.
Palmer Capital, the landowner, and Vastint, who will develop the hotel, are delighted to transform this currently undeveloped site into a Moxy Hotel in a way that complements the local community and supports neighbouring businesses.
“We are delighted that we can bring this exciting new hotel brand to Milton Keynes, a city known for its cosmopolitan nature and thriving attractions. The site will perfectly complement the outlets already there and further enhance the city’s wider offering to both locals and tourists,” said Steven Wright, director at Palmer Capital.
“Moxy Hotels offers a refreshing take on hospitality and we expect the hotel to be a hit with guests looking for a stylish and social hotel experience, who might be in town for an event at the Arena MK or for the world-class shopping and cultural attractions.”
