In light of continuing growth, preeminent development and investment business Opus Land has enhanced its construction function by appointing property and construction consultancy, Gleeds, to oversee its growing portfolio.

The appointment comes as Opus acquires new premises in Henley-in-Arden and welcomes two new members to the team, both of whom will play an integral role in the acquisition of future development sites.

In 2015 the Midlands-based property company acquired standing investments of £23 million and received profits from developments and planning promotions with a GDV totalling over £70 million. Already this year, Opus has obtained planning permission for a new 100,000sq.ft. industrial scheme in Cannock which is set to commence on site in Q2 2016.

Opus Land’s Joint Managing Director, Victoria Smith, commented: “Opus Land is testament to what can be achieved through knowing your market, understanding occupiers’ needs and caring about the detail of development. We are excited about what the future holds and look forward to working more closely with Gleeds to achieve our goals”.

The move provides Opus Land with a single source of dedicated construction advice, from consultants who understand the intricacies of the developer market, as well as the construction process. Gleeds will offer services ranging from development feasibility assessments to project and cost management.

Gleeds Area Chairman for the Midlands, Lindsay McCombe, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Opus with their expansion plans. We’re seeing a lot of investment being made in the Midlands, particularly in sectors such as warehousing and distribution. It is particularly gratifying to see local developers leading the way in growing the regional economy.”
