A pedestrian and cycle bridge at one of Bristol’s leading regeneration schemes is being built by a South Wales construction firm.
Port Talbot-based Andrew Scott has started work on the bridge at the residential, commercial, retail and leisure Finzels Reach scheme.
The Finzels Bridge will take 23 weeks to complete.
Contracts manager for Andrew Scott. Phil Pugh, said: “The shared pedestrian and cycle bridge will link the mixed use development Finzels Reach with Castle Park and Cabot Circus without the need for stairs or lifts making it accessible for all.

“Whilst there are a few technical and logistical challenges that we’ll have to overcome to bring the project to completion, we are confident that the finished result will be a striking compliment to an already exciting development.”
The scheme’s lead developer is Cubex.
Cubex director Gavin Bridge said: “Finzels Bridge will be a lasting legacy from Bristol’s year as European Green Capital and we are committed to creating a bridge that will be enjoyed by all users for many years to come.”
Managing director of Andrew Scott, Mark Bowen, said: ““The addition of Finzels Bridge is particularly significant to not just the wider project but the entire city.
“Bristol’s title as European Green Capital has led to a surge of investment and development, and we are so proud to be a part of what is already a vibrant place to live and work.”
