Plans for a multi-million pound new redevelopment of a parade of shops on Sycamore Road, Amersham, have been given the green light by the Chiltern District Council Planning Committee.
The proposals submitted by Angle Property, will see the existing property on land off Sycamore Road, Amersham, which currently comprises of three retail units (Cargo, Chilton Watson Opticians and Iceland) make way for a signature development, which will provide 35 new and much needed homes with basement car parking.
Local residential agents Frosts on Hill Avenue, Amersham, will be marketing the one and two bedroom units on the upper floors, in the near future. The development will include 8,000 square feet of newly configured retail units on the ground floor with commercial agents CWM in discussions with interested parties for the retail unit(s) on behalf of Angle Property.
James Good, Director for Angle Property said:
“We are delighted with the committee’s decision, which will lead to the creation of new jobs, as well as providing Amersham with much needed news homes. In response to local feedback Angle Property have accepted a planning condition which limits use of the entire ground floor commercial space to A1 retail use only, which will provide the opportunity for continued food retail use. We will be working hard over the coming months to finalise all planning and legal matters with a view to getting on-site as soon as possible.”
Whilst all planning details now need to be finalised, it is expected that work could start on the construction of the new development in Summer 2016.
