Gleeds has been chosen by developer Danescroft Land to provide cost and project management services for £275m worth of residential developments across Greater London.
The first phase involves the production of feasibility studies for three brownfield and greenfield sites at Bromley-by-Bow, Hammersmith and West Drayton. Potential for both commercial and residential units will be assessed. Gleeds will advise on development management, assisting during the planning process and appointing the supply chain.
The Bromley development has seen Danescroft Land (funded by Palmer Land Opportunity Trust) working with the London Legacy Development Corporation and other local landowners to lead the master planning of the Bromley-by-Bow South regeneration area. When works start, Gleeds’ role will involve managing the demolition, brownfield site redevelopment and associated infrastructure works.
In West Drayton, in the London Borough of Hillingdon, Gleeds will be responsible for overseeing demolition works, as well as supervising the construction of 88 new residential units. The development, funded by Palmer Capital Development Fund III, is on the banks of a canal, opposite the new West Drayton Crossrail station.
The Hammersmith project involves the conversion of 2,000 m2 of existing office space into 53 residential apartments.
Gleeds director Jonathan Stewart said: “We are currently reviewing design proposals and providing advice on cost effective construction options across these three very diverse projects.
“These distinct schemes have an element of affordable housing and Danescroft Land have a considerable track record for developing complex and challenging sites. We are both excited and energised at the prospect of working through an innovative central framework, leveraging our experience from one project across to the others.”
