Fiera Real Estate UK achieves GRESB Green Star status on all funds with FREOF IV receiving top score, outperforming all other Northern European diversified, non-listed funds.

Fiera Real Estate UK (“FRE UK”) is delighted to announce that it has received Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (“GRESB”) Green Star status for all its funds with the Fiera Real Estate Opportunity Fund UK IV (“FREOF IV”) receiving the highest score across its Northern European peer group.

GRESB scoring gives a valuable insight into the firm’s ESG performance compared to its peers. GRESB’s Green Star ratings are awarded for both a Fund’s performance and management of ESG factors. Compared with previous year’s submissions, each Fund saw a vast increase in score.

The Fiera Real Estate Long Income Fund UK (“FRELIF”), saw an 8% increase which is set to grow further in 2022 as the Firm implements its Net Zero Carbon (“NZC”) Pathway and improves its year-on-year water, energy and waste reductions.

To achieve these goals, the Fund recently appointed a NZC Partner to create an ambitious roadmap to improve energy intensity well before the Government’s 2050 ambitions. The pathway is being built to align with the BBP Climate Change Commitment and the World GBC Net‑Zero Commitment.

FRELIF will also soon feature an ESG-exemplar Grade A office and warehouse development targeting BREEAM Excellent and EPC A ratings, set to include sustainable features such as roof-mounted solar panels, rainwater harvesting and EV charging points.

To complement the recent successes in the long-income space, FRE UK’s value-add Funds, FREOF IV and FREOF V have also seen plenty of progress, with their GRESB scores increasing by 11% and 14% respectively.

To date, FREOF IV has delivered two BREEAM Excellent industrial schemes, as well as Halo, the first development to achieve BREEAM Outstanding under the strict 2018 criteria outside of London and the second-best score achieved in the UK to date.

Alex Price, CEO UK commented “We have invested significant resource to ensure we can deliver on Fiera Real Estates social and net zero carbon commitments. Given this, we are delighted that FREOF IV placed first amongst its European peer group in 2021. It is also a testament to the whole Fiera Real Estate team that we achieved a GRESB Green Star status on all our current funds”.
