Fiera’s “Walk Together, Listen Together” charity campaign is officially live! This year, we are proud to partner with The Listening Place, a charity founded in 2016 by a group of volunteers in response to the increasing number of suicides. Since then, they have supported over 20,000 individuals struggling with suicidal thoughts, offering face-to-face appointments and based on active listening principles. These sessions are delivered by compassionate, non-judgmental volunteers and continue for as long as needed to help reduce suicidal feelings.
We are targeting to raise £50,000 for The Listening Place, which will help fund the following:
- Training for 100 volunteers to deliver face-to-face support, each of whom will go on to assist an average of 12 people annually, meaning our target will directly fund volunteer support for 1,200 individuals over the course of the year.
- Ongoing support for 200 people who are feeling suicidal through in-person appointments, with care provided as long as necessary.
- Construction of accessible facilities at their new site in East London, including a wheelchair ramp, platform lift, and accessible toilet, set to open in Summer 2025.
Our main fundraising event will take place on Thursday 12th June in London, where we will be hosting a 10km walk to bring clients and partners together from across the industry; the walk will conclude with drinks at a local pub. We would love as many people as possible to join us – not only to take part in the walk, but also to help us raise valuable corporate fundraising for such an important cause.
How can you help?
We are aiming for 200 participants, so if you would like to take part, please email Olivia Collier at olivia.collier@fierarealestate.com.
