Emma Murray nominated for LandAid’s Outstanding Ambassador Award

2018 has already seen many nominations for Palmer Capital and the team and we are only three months into the year! The tradition is being upheld following Palmer Capital’s Business Development Manager, Emma Murray being nominated for LandAid’s Outstanding Ambassador Award, sponsored by Allsop. Emma has been involved in the organisation and participation of all of Palmer Capital’s fundraising events over the past few years.

Throughout 2017, Emma Murray helped Palmer Capital to raise c. £30,000 for LandAid over various events. Emma organised our 3rd industry-famous annual poker tournament in November 2017, which saw over £9,000 raised for LandAid by the 60+ attendees – a thousand more than our previous years!

Another huge event that Emma organised was the LandAid Money Maker Challenge. The challenge is also in its third year, and sees various groups compete to maximise the return from a £250 donation from our CEO’s, Alex Price’s pocket. Last year’s event saw over £12,000 raised over the different events which included a week long cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats by Angle Property’s James Good, the Bike & Beer event in Ilkley held by Opus North, a world record breaking attempt by HeadOffice3, a Come Dine with Me spinoff by Palmer Capital, a beer pong and foosball tournament held by Danescroft and an auction held by Wrenbridge.

Emma also visited Canopy Housing in Leeds at the end of 2017 for the ‘Empty Homes Project’ to see the home that Palmer Capital sponsored with the winnings of the LandAid Money Maker Challenge and noted that “It was incredible to have the opportunity to visit the empty homes project in Leeds and meet the individuals behind these fantastic projects. It certainly has opened my eyes on the vast difference our money raised has made and given us a new drive to go above and beyond this year to see another home created.”

These are but a few reasons why Emma Murray should be awarded the title of Outstanding Ambassador for LandAid, and she will undoubtedly go on to raise more and more for the amazing cause. The LandAid Ambassador Awards are being held at 20 Fenchurch Street on Thursday 19th April 2018 and will see individuals from well-known organisations such as Carter Jonas, GVA, JLL and Colliers.

We wish good luck to all the participants and hope that you will join us in congratulating Emma on her nomination!
