Viagra maker Pfizer’s former European HQ in Sandwich, Kent, is to be transformed into a mixed-use scheme covering 200 acres. Discovery Park, bought by a Palmer Capital-backed consortium including Trevor Cartner and Chris Musgrave in 2012, will provide 2.8m sq ft of employment space and 500 homes. Dover council’s planning committee has resolved to grant outline consent for the scheme, which will also include hotels, a 50,000 sq ft supermarket and other shops. Pfizer vacated the site in 2011, resulting in the loss of 2,000 jobs. The outline consent, secured by GVA, will establish a planning framework for phased development over 10 years.
