Wrenbridge Sport have bagged another award for their project at York Community Stadium at last night’s EG Awards. The project, which has already won an award (Property Week’s Deal of the Year), were awarded the title of Regional Development of the Year last night, and were up against some fierce competition from the likes of Legal & General IM & Patron Capital.

The scheme will provide an 8,000 seat stadium and leisure complex, which has planning granted for a sports hall, swimming pool, gym, dance studio, climbing wall and artificial pitches. In addition to the stadium aspect, there will be 60,000 sq ft of new retail available which will include a 13 screen IMAX cinema, which has recently received approval to increase in size from the original plans, and various restaurants. The team have worked tirelessly for 5 solid years to make this dream a reality, and with on-site progress being ahead of schedule in various parts, York won’t have to wait much longer for their new social hub.
